Founded 50 years ago
as a family-owned business, Haflinger is the largest manufacturer
of boiled wool shoes in Germany. Run by the grandson of the founder,
Haflinger is known in many international markets for not only its
boiled wool shoes, slippers and wool felt clogs, but more importantly
for its outstanding quality and workmanship. In 1991 Gerda Hoehm
began importing Haflinger shoes into the U.S. and Canada and the
company has since doubled and tripled sales from year to year—Haflinger
shoes have been extremely well received in North America.
Americans are spending more and more time at home—working,
relaxing, planning, playing, exercising—and the lines between
these activities continue to blur. Haflinger's priorities are changing
quickly as they place increasingly more emphasis on versatility,
longevity, and simple, natural comforts. You can see the effects
of this philosophy everywhere—casual work environments, the
growing “Outdoor Movement,” and the ubiquity of natural
fabrics. To define the phenomenon as a trend does not suffice; the
Haflinger team prefers to think of these developments as a Comfort
Renaissance.
Although the recipe for reliable footwear and superior wool has
not changed since the early days of Haflinger, the line has evolved
its product offering to include a range of styles—children’s
slippers and clogs, leather and wool-felt cork-bottom clogs and
sandals, hard- and soft-sole slippers, and a new line of European
comfort-chic clogs. Whether you prefer the classic “Grizzly”
wool felt clog, our breathable, comfortable boiled-wool slippers,
or the fresh, new City Collection, Haflinger footwear will consistently
treat your feet to the best!
